I live in the Portland area and am looking for some trade schools. It seems like every trade school is all about the money, and a lot of people think they are a huge waste of time and money. I have looked at Everest, Concorde, Anthem, Heald, DeVry, Carrington…. I want to become a Dental Assistant but am having a hard time finding which college to go to that won’t rip me off or waste my time.
Anyone have some suggestions?

I went to college, but employers keep saying that I do not qualify, for lack of experience. So, I never even get an interview. And this includes the simplest possible jobs you can have, like housekeeping and McDonald’s. Therefore, vocational school is the only way to find a job. What should I take up at vocational school that will actually land me the job? Also, where can I get a grant to be able to pay for vocational school?
I live in the 90304 zipcode area and would like to know a good technical or trade school to learn and become an electrician. I have no knowledge or experience in that field.
My boyfriend is not sure if he wants to go to the JVS (joint vocational school) but his mom and step-dad are pushing him over the limit and he doesn’t know what to do. I have been telling him that the JVS is the worst idea if he wants to go to college(Which he does). I am just curious on your opinions of if you think the JVS is a good school for people who are planning on going to a four year college?

I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TO BECOME A RN BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SCHOOLS ARE GOOD OR BAD I WAS THINKING ABOUT TRADE SCHOOLS GOOD OR BAD
with no college degree. A trade that can be learned that you can get a good job with.
So a guy is 24 years old, graduated high school years ago and doesn’t have the time or the money to go through a full four year college to get bachelors of IT.
Is a vocational school a good choice?
What kind of career do these schools guarantee? If he takes a lot of internships in between, and goes to school, will he be able to climb higher into his career? Or not having a 4 year degree will be looked down upon when he wants to go beyond?
